Pasadena Art Night 2013

So much for coming back to blogging! It has been a crazy month in the Laing household! February started with me coming down with a "mild" case of pneumonia (and if you've ever had pneumonia, you know there is nothing mild about it!), followed by an allergic reaction to the medicine they gave me, followed by more medication and more problems! I don't think I've ever been to the doctor this many times in one month! Right in the middle of my drama, my husband manages to get a small fracture in his hand. And we're about to start a major add-on to our house (we're tripling the size of our house!) which involves moving out for an unspecified amount of time. Needless to say... if you've emailed me or been in contact with me over the past month, thank you for your patience! Like they always say, when it rains it pours!

On a more positive note...
Last Friday was Pasadena's annual Art Night! We usually try and go depending on what the exhibits are. I was very excited to see a wedding themed exhibit this year at the Pasadena Museum of History called I Do! I Do! Pasadena Ties the Knot. It was all about wedding dresses! It was fun getting to walk around and look at all the pretty dresses! What I liked most was that the dresses were out in the open and not behind glass like they so often are. If you've got some free time, the exhibit is free on Wednesday's, so go and take a look!

Engagement: Omar & Mia

It sounded like a plot of a romantic comedy. He's a southern gentleman, she's a California girl. They met at the airport. They fell in love. He moved from his home in Texas to California just to be with her. And now they are getting married.

Omar and Mia, thank you for letting me be a witness of your love for each other. It's not often that I come across a love like yours. I'm so happy for both of you, you both have found a real winner :) I wish you guys all the best!

Trash the Dress: Los Angeles Knotties!!!

LAKnottieTrashTheDressBlog0002

You've heard me gush about my L.A. Knotties before. And now I have one more reason.

An L.A. Knotties Trash the Dress Shoot!

These girls are amazing! How many other girls do you know that would walk around Old Town Pasadena with 4 other brides in their wedding dress, and pose for a picture in the middle of the street? Plus, they are all amazingly gorgeous.

Thank you so much girls for not only letting me shoot you, but also for letting me join in for a bit! (And thank you Jen & Teresa for coming along and carting our stuff around! )

And an extra special thank you needs to go out to Andy Kitchen for helping out! It wouldn't have been the same shoot without you!!!
