Nature: El Matador State Beach

El Matador State Beach in Malibu might be my new favorite beach. Not only is it amazing to shoot at, but I love the little tide pools and all the creatures that live in them. I got there a little early last week to shoot the Beattys so I had a few extra minutes to explore and take some pictures just for me, which I haven't gotten to do much of lately. It was a nice change of pace and I absolutely love the pictures!













This little guy was sitting there staring at me for a good 5 minutes. He was such a good subject!

Family: The Beattys at the Beach!

If I had to choose one family to photograph for the rest of my life, it might be the Beattys. (You might remember them from their shoot back in December.) They are super sweet and so much fun. And they make me feel like part of the family, which is so ridiculously awesome.

Dawn had the fabulous idea of doing a shoot for her mom before she moves back to Indiana. It was just the girls. Four generations of Beattys. It was priceless.

Dawn, thank you for letting me shoot your wonderful family again! I had so much fun getting to spend the day with you guys. You are the reason I love this new career of mine so much!













Kylie made this face in the middle of one of my shots. Everyone else thought it was so funny they just had to do it too!

Wedding: Edward & Daniela

Dani was one of my best friends in college. We were both in the smallest major (go rec majors!) at Cal State Northridge. We took almost every class in our major together, worked on group projects, made fake rocks, set up events, battled pneumonia, and graduated sitting next to each other. Through those years I got to know her boyfriend a little bit. Even back then I could tell he was crazy about her. So imagine my excitment when this photo popped up on my Facebook feed almost a year ago:

Edward is a huge fan of poker, and his favorite movie of all time is Space Jam. What better to have on his wedding day then cards and some Jordans?

I love the moment right after the ceremony when the bride and groom get a moment to themselves. Favorite time of the day, by far.



Let me set up these pictures...
Dani told Ed he should wear Jordans on their wedding day. He said no, he needed to wear dress shoes. He surprised her by wearing Jordans after all. Dani thinks he deserves a high five for wearing them. Then she turns to me and and asks if I knew about it before.

I love being a photographer.



This kid kept following me around and taking pictures of whatever I was taking pictures of. So cute!
